Priority occupation list for skilled visa has been increased from 19 to 41 to fill vacancies in critical sector. There are 22 new occupations added to the priority list which includes accountants, electrical and petroleum engineers, prosthetists, multimedia specialists, auditors, foot doctors, software programmers, ICT security specialist and chefs to name a few. Although, these occupations will be granted priority processing, migrants will still need to go through domestic quarantine and deal with issues getting flights. These occupations have been identified to fill needed critical skills and support economic recovery from COVID-19.

The list is temporary and may change as Australia recovers from the pandemic. Priority processing will be given to employer sponsored visa applications that are on PMSOL and applies to these employers sponsored visa subclass:
Travel exemptions must be obtained to travel to Australia while border restrictions are intact, and migrants are subjected to quarantine at their own expense. The existing skilled occupation list will remain in operation, but PMSOL will get priority while processing.
