The proposed introduction of this visa was announced by the Australian Government when a discussion paper on the topic was released last month.
The primary benefit of this proposed new visa would be that Australian citizens can sponsor their parents to stay with them in Australia for an extended period of time of up to 5 years whilst still applying for a permanent visa.
