New application process for NSW Innovation Stream Visas announced

The New South Wales department of Industry has begun implementing it’s new streamlined process in an attempt to attract more business migrants to the state of New South Wales.  The process has been more made more automated and user-friendly to assist both the applicants and the Department to improve application processing times for the Business Innovation Stream Visa (subclass 188A).

The Business Innovation Stream Visa is available to those who are intending to manage or own an existing business or start up a new business. There are several requirements such as:

  • Applicant able to prove a successful history in business
  • In possession of significant business and personal assets
  • Receiving an invitation to apply and nomination by a Austrade or a state or territory government
  • Successfully pass health and character requirements

The changes that the New South Wales government instigated on the 1st of March 2016 for those wanting to apply for the Business Innovation Stream Visa include:

  • Removal of unnecessary paperwork in reference to setting up a business in New South Wales
  • More flexibility in the required preparation of the applicants business plan
  • Focus on customer service and simple application process for all eligible applicants
