Have you ever wondered why a Visa applicant from England might still have to sit an English Language test? Well, you’re not the only one!

A new subclause has been added in regards to the 457 employer sponsored visa relating to English language exemption criteria. Future visa applicants who are earning at the level of the base wage for Temporary Work Skilled Visas now can apply for English Exemptions through specific criteria.

The countries of applicants exempt from the English Language test are citizens holding valid passports from the following countries:

  • United Kingdom
  • Republic of Ireland
  • United States of America
  • Canada
  • New Zealand

All other persons wishing to apply for a work visa for Australia under the Temporary Work Skilled Visa (Subclass 457) must check with their registered migration agents if they satisfy all visa criteria even if they meet the minimum level of proven salary.

Ensure all details are completed correctly due to international identity indicators which could affect the outcome of your Australian visa.

For more information on these clauses please contact our Mygration Head Office and speak with one of our experienced migration agents or download the following information:Comlaw Download
