How many points are required to get an Australian Permanent Residence Visa?

By admin

In recent years there has been a marked increase in the skilled immigration to Australia. Recently Australia was ranked the 4th best country to be a skilled immigrant and with the growth in jobs across the board for skilled and professional occupations, many have considered Australian immigration as a growth opportunity.

Australia, just like any other country, has a points system for their visa requirements for Australian business visa or any other skilled migration to Australia. This points system requires the applicant to achieve a minimum of 65 points to be granted a visa and these points are awarded according to various factors.

These factors cover all areas critical to maintaining a high level of sustainability within the marketplace and continuance in the growth for Australia as a whole. The points are awarded in the following areas:

  • Nominated occupation
  • Age
  • English language proficiency
  • Skilled employment
  • Educational qualifications
  • Australian qualifications
  • Regional study
  • Community language skills
  • Spouse/partner skills and qualifications
  • Professional year
  • Nominations and sponsorship (Subclasses 190 and 489 only)

Depending on the specific weighting of each of these criteria, you will be awarded points in your visa application. There are some crucial areas to pay attention to when you apply for a business or working visa for Australia, as they have a high weighting in the points scored.

If you are considering immigration to Australia, you should consider the following important aspects when you finalize your application. The high-ranking criteria are:

  • Age – highest score 30 points (25-32yrs old)
  • Language – Highest score 20 points (8 + score on IELTS test)
  • Qualification – Highest score 20 points (Doctorate Degree)
  • Skilled Employment – Highest score 15 points (8yrs outside of Australia)

Although the points system is applicable to all immigrants there are certain instances where additional conditions will need to be addressed. Whatever the case, the opportunities are vast. Australia is a country that has something for everyone, tropical climate and spectacular beaches in the north-east (Queensland) with the Great Barrier Reef just of the coast, desert climate in the western parts and everything in between. With great weather and booming economy, with the substantial growth in the professional and scientific services market and the food and accommodation market and many more since 2016, there are countless opportunity areas for you and your family to migrate to Australia.

Your skill and experience in the nominated professions could very well be your ticket to a wonderful new life in the Land Down Under. In the last decade, Australia has proven its growth-based economy by being in the top-ranked countries for economic freedom and consistently low unemployment rates as well as having many of 4 major metropolitan cities listed in the top 10 most livable cities in the world, with Melbourne ranked #1 4 years in a row.

If you are looking to migrate to a fascinating country filled with culture and fostering communities and amazing growth opportunities, consider Australia for your future.
