There’s a lot to love about the Gold Coast situated in Queensland, Australia. Beautiful beaches, amazing weather, tourism, theme parks, great schools – the list goes on and for good reason.  The Gold Coast is Australia’s biggest non-capital city offering the facilities of city living without the crowds.

With an estimated 3 million domestic tourists visiting each year, the Gold Coast is also becoming one of the most popular destinations in Australia for Sydney locals and New Zealanders to move to.  At last count there are approxiamately 40,000 New Zealand citizens living on the Gold Coast which is 1% of New Zealands population living in a city with a population of just over half a million.

There are several factors that make the Gold Coast an attractive destination to live:

  • Weather
  • Real estate prices (significantly lower than Sydney and Auckland)
  • Water and beach access
  • Education (primary, secondary and university)
  • Lifestyle (sports, outdoor activities, events)
