Australia’s call out for engineering, medicine and nursing students

A recent study by a migration agent from the University of Melbourne has resulted in some interesting figures being released showing an under-lying demand for graduated students in several specific fields.  The study showed that international students who had successfully completed their studies and wanted to work in Australia were able to find employment in their relevant fields, particularly under the below industries:

  • 66% studied Nursing
  • 57% studied Medicine
  • 29% studied Engineering
  • Less than 10% studied Commerce

These figures have shown a shift in the industries who will ultimately be requiring Skilled workers with Commerce and IT usually holding the top spots.

The Australian Department of Immigration and Border Control has put processes in place to make the application process for international students to either complete their studies in Australia, or find employment after their studies.

If you are an existing student or have recently completed your studies and wanting to explore your options in working in Australia, please contact one of our qualified migration agents.
