There is an update for MIA members regarding The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC).
ANMAC processed 5474 migration skills assessments during 2017/18 and accomplished great efficiency in assessments using the Electronic Document Submission system.
5 weeks is the current processing time for skills assessments.
To keep within this time frame, the assessment team suggests that applicants promptly upload all documentation using the ‘checklist’ and ‘upload requirements’ as a guide.
Determination letters from ANMAC are now provided via email.

50% of the program i.e. 79,600 places have been attributed to Skilled type Visas. Skilled visas are aimed at improving productive capacity of the economy and fill skill shortages in the labour market, with a key target to regional Australia. 100 places have been allowed for applicants who have special circumstances under the Special EligibilityIt is to assist permanent residents returning to Australia after being away for a long period.
At least 3,000 Child places will be available in 2020-21
