This week Indian mining company Adani has announced that construction is one step closer to being approved for the new megamine in Central Queensland.
The forecast for international investment into the local and state economies is set to tip the $7 billion mark. Not only will the company be hiring workers for what will eventually be Australia’s largest coal mine, it is also obliged to set up infrastructure such as a rail link.
The mine which will cover 44,700 ha is located in the Carmichael region and is due to begin operations in 2017.
Some of the trades that will be sourced by the Adani mine include:
* Plant operators
* Mining Engineers
While there are still certain elements waiting for Government approval, Adani Australia boss Jeyakumar Janakarij is confident the dredging to prepare the site will begin within the next months.
