Brisbane Farwells the G20 Summit

Last weekend Brisbane city, the capital of Queensland Australia played host to 20 of the worlds most influential leaders at the 2014 G20 Summit.  Amongst the leaders that attended the summit were President Barack Obama, President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister David Campbell and President Xi Jinping.

The priorities that were listed on the G20 agenda this year included:

  • Promoting stronger economic growth and employment outcomes
  • Making the global economy more resilient to deal with future shocks
  • Strengthening global institutions to ensure they reflect the new realities of the global economy

In addition to discussing the important issues, the G20 Summit brought all eyes of the world onto the city of Brisbane. President Barack Obama’s speech at the University of Queensland also helped to bring positive attention and the spotlight onto Brisbane and Queensland as a destination to visit.

The President’s glowing ‘Brisbane Speech’ is anticipated to instigate an increase in general enquiries for holiday visas, student visas and permanent residency visas to Australia. If you would like any information on which visas are available to live, work or visit Australia, contact one of our qualified migration agents based right here in Brisbane.
